Drug, Alcohol and Vaping Prevention programs:
Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department has several programs geared towards the prevention of drug and alcohol misuse and educating about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and vaping.
Services offered:
- School-based and youth-serving organization-based programs: Evidence-based and/or research-informed substance abuse prevention programs to prevent drug, alcohol & vaping abuse and misuse. See the flyer below for full details and give us a call to schedule!
- Responsible Beverage server training for businesses selling or serving alcohol: Training classes for alcohol servers and sellers to help stop underage drinking and excessive drinking. See our Responsible Beverage Server Training flyer below for details on how to have a class for your staff.
- Alcohol compliance checks: We provide partnership funding to the Nebraska State Patrol and the Norfolk Police Department to conduct compliance checks throughout our 4-county district.
- Host booths at health fairs, school events, and other public events to educate the public on drug & alcohol misuse and vaping.
- Collect and analyze data to determine current drug abuse trends.
- Prescription Drug Take-Back: There are two permanent prescription take-back collection boxes located at the West Point Police Department & the Norfolk Police Department to collect outdated, unwanted or unused prescription drugs. Also, many pharmacies in the district also have prescription take-back programs as well - please check with your local pharmacy.
Norfolk Police Department Drug/Medicaton Disposal Box:
- Open 24/7
- Available for individual/household medication disposal only. No liquids, sharps or aerosol cans accepted.
West Point Police Department Drug/Medication Disposal Box:
