Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department’s (ELVPHD) dental program, Healthy Teeth Forever, was selected by the Shopko Foundation to be a recipient of their Charitable Communities Grant in the amount of $500. The grant will be used to purchase oral health care supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss) to give to program participants after they receive dental services.
ELVPHD’s Healthy Teeth Forever program provides preventive dental services to children age 0-5 in child care and pre-school settings, children age 5-12 years of age in schools, and adults age 65 and older who are residents of long-term care facility or assisted living facilities. Services are provided by a Nebraska licensed public health authorized dental hygienist and may include: oral health education, dental screenings, fluoride varnish treatments, sealant applications, dental cleanings and referral assistance.
The Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department Healthy Teeth Forever Program is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under grant number T12HP30315, Grants to States to Support Oral Health Workforces Activities ($43,278). Public health aims to make people and communities healthy and safe. In doing so, ELVPHD offers many services and programs to local residents and businesses of Burt, Cuming, Stanton and Madison counties in northeast Nebraska. Visit us online today at: www.elvphd.org
