Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Saves Lives!
Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department has several trained CPR instructors who provide both American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR, AED & First Aid for childcare providers, parents and the general public, as well as, AHA Basic Life Support and BLS renewal classes for healthcare providers.
We have in-person classes available (BLS for medical professionals and Heartsaver classes (for non-medical participants). Please see our in-person class flyers below for information on those classes and contact us to come to your business site to train your employees and childcare providers in a group setting. Additionally, for those who prefer to take their classes online, we offer the American Heart Association courses online and then you will schedule your hands-on skills testing portion at any one of our three office sites (Norfolk, Wisner or Tekamah).
Online / Blended Learning Courses:
Online/blended CPR is for those who want to complete the courses online (at home) and then schedule for the required skills testing at one of our three office sites (Norfolk, Wisner or Tekamah). This allows you to complete the certification at a time that is convenient for you and without waiting for a fully in-person course offering.
How it works:
- Go to our Class/Events Registration page and select the online class you want to enroll in (class prices are inclusive of both the online portion and the required in-person skills testing portion).
- You will receive an email from us with the link to the online class you chose.
- Complete your online class and once you have your completed certificate(s) from the online portion, then you will email us back.
- We will review your course certificate(s) to ensure that the online courses were fully completed and then email you a scheduling link so you can schedule with us for your required in-person skills session at one of our three office locations (Norfolk, Wisner or Tekamah).
- You will come in for your hands-on skills session and we will then request that your e-card is electronically sent to your email.
In-Person Courses:
Basic Life Support classes (BLS for healthcare providers): ELVPHD provides BLS full classes and renewals for health-related businesses/organizations to help their staff stay current with their BLS certifications. Please contact us if your business is interested in having ELVPHD provide this service. Please see the Basic Life Support (BLS) flyer below for details on pricing.
Heartsaver CPR, AED and First Aid (for general public and childcare providers): If your childcare center or non-medical site would like to schedule your own class (minimum of 6 required) then please contact us at 402-529-2233 (info@elvphd.ne.gov) to inquire about setting up your own class to get your staff trained/renewed all at one time.
