Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) is pleased to announce that a Tai Chi class series is set to begin in Tekamah during April 2019. Tai Chi classes are a great way for seniors to improve strength, flexibility and balance.
The class series will take place on Mondays & Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am beginning Monday, April 8th at the CHATT Center and will last for 12 weeks. Peggy Knights will be the class instructor. There is no cost for the class; however, a free will donation at the class sessions will be accepted.
Tai Chi puts minimal stress on joints, is generally safe for people of all ages, and is very beneficial for those sixty years of age or older. Outcomes from past classes show that 85% of the participants improved their Timed Up and Go (TUG) mobility and fall risk test score from the first to the final class.
Registration is required. Please call Peggy Knights at 402-374-2189 or Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department at 402-529-2233 or register online at: Elvphd.org (Register: Class/Event). Class size is limited so please reserve your spot early!
