Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) is pleased to announce that a Tai Chi class series is set to begin in Tekamah during September 2018. Tai Chi classes are a great way for seniors to improve strength, flexibility and balance.
The class series will take place on Tuesdays & Fridays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am beginning Tuesday, September 11th at the CHATT Center and will last for 12 weeks. Peggy Knights will be the class instructor. There is no cost for the class; however, a free will donation at the class sessions will be accepted.
Tai Chi puts minimal stress on joints, is generally safe for people of all ages, and is very beneficial for those sixty years of age or older. Outcomes from past classes show that 85% of the participants improved their Timed Up and Go (TUG) mobility and fall risk test score from the first to the final class.
Registration is required by calling Peggy Knights at 402-374-2189 or Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department at 402-529-2233. Class size is limited so please call to reserve your spot.
