Community Health Workers
Community health workers are people who know their communities well and are interested in improving the health of others. They help connect people to health providers and they promote good health practices within the community. Community health workers understand well the customs, culture and language of their neighbors and are able to talk about health related matters in an easy-to-understand manner.
At Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department, we are proud to have several volunteer community health workers which assist us with understanding the needs of the community and helping us to better serve the people’s health and wellness interests. Our community health workers help connect their friends and neighbors to the services that we provide and help promote our services and upcoming events.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer community health worker then please contact us. We can discuss training opportunities with you and the types of activities that you may be asked to do to assist us with helping our community to be healthier and safer. Together we can make a difference!
