One in four older adults has a fall each year according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Falls are not a normal part of aging and can be prevented. Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health will be hosting a Stepping On Fall Prevention series beginning July 11, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Oakland Housing Authority (100 N. Aurora Ave., Oakland). This class will meet each Tuesday for 7 weeks.
Stepping On is a fun and interactive series that gives participants the strategies for avoiding falls including balance and strength exercises, home safety checklist discussions, medication review and more. This class series is designed for people who are age 60 or older to help prevent costly and dangerous falls.
