Want to get a jump on your 2018 New Year’s resolution? Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department will be hosting healthy lifestyles classes beginning December 13th, 2017. This is a 16 week Healthy Lifestyles Education class to help motivate and inspire those in the class to become more active and eat healthier. The class also encourages participants to lose 5-7% of their body weight (10-14 pounds for a 200-pound person), and provides support to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Participants must be 18 years or older to register for the class.
This class is great for those who are looking to make a change or those who have been recently diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), you will learn about fitness, nutrition, and how to reach your healthy weight-loss goals.
ELVPHD will be hosting these classes at ELVPHD’s Norfolk office location at 302 W. Phillip Ave. Classes will be held once a week for 16 weeks from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and will cost $75.00 per participant. If you are interested in being a part of these classes, and would like to register for the class, please call 402-529-2233 or e-mail Tayler at tayler@elvphd.org.
