Stepping On class to help reduce falls

Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) and the Madison House are excited to announce that a new Stepping On class series will begin on Thursday, January 10th, 2019, at 10am at the Madison House in Norfolk. This class is open to the public and will meet each Thursday for 7 weeks. Stepping On is an evidence-based program, and studies have shown that the fall rate among
Stepping On participants was reduced about 30 percent compared with those who did not participate in the program.
Class topics will include: vision, outdoor safety, footwear, medication, home safety, mobility aids, balance and exercise. In addition to the program facilitator, guest experts will lead some sessions. Registration is required for the class by calling ELVPHD at 402-529-2233 or register online at www.elvphd.org. There is no cost for the class but free will donations will be accepted.
