Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) and the Oakland Mercy Hospital are excited to announce that a new Stepping On class series will begin on Thursday, February 21st, 2019, at 9am at the Oakland Mercy Hospital (cafeteria). This class is open to the public and will meet each Thursday for 7 weeks. Stepping On is an evidence-based program, and studies have shown that the fall rate among Stepping On participants was reduced about 30 percent compared with those who did not participate in the program. Class topics will include: vision, outdoor safety, footwear, medication, home safety, mobility aids, balance and exercise. In addition to the program facilitator, guest experts will lead some sessions.
