Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department (ELVPHD) is pleased to announce that three Tai Chi classes will begin in Norfolk during January 2019. Tai Chi classes are a great way for seniors to improve strength, flexibility and balance.
The three classes will be held as follows:
Norfolk Senior Center: 4pm to 5pm on Mondays & Wednesdays beginning January 7th. Classes are held twice a week for 12 weeks.
Madison House: 1pm to 2pm on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning January 7th. Classes are held twice a week for 12 weeks.
Norfolk Methodist Church: 9am to 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning January 8th. Classes are held twice a week for 12 weeks.
There is no cost for any of the classes; however, a free will donation at the class sessions will be accepted. Registration is required! To register please call 402-529-2233, email krista@elvphd.org or online at ELVPHD’s website at www.elvphd.org (Register: Class/Event). Class size is limited.
Tai Chi puts minimal stress on joints, is generally safe for people of all ages, and is very beneficial for those sixty years of age or older. Outcomes from past classes show that 85% of the participants improved their Timed Up and Go (TUG) mobility and fall risk test score from the first to the final class.
